Job opportunity – Head of Philanthropy Full time [4-5 days a week, flexible hours] | Permanent role Based in Tonbridge TN9 1TB | Competitive salary [+ pension + health]

An exciting opportunity for a dynamic, capable, ‘hands-on’ Philanthropy Manager to join our small, talented team at YMCA West Kent.  In this vital role, you will lead in securing donations [£1k to £500k+] identifying and approaching Trusts and Foundations whilst building and cultivating excellent relationships with Corporate Partners and Major Donors.

You will:

We are seeking a tenacious, self-motivated person to:

  • diversify and deliver an improved fundraising strategy, including legacies and individual giving
  • steward relationships with our major donors to bring them closer to the charity to better understand their impact on clients and maximise the value they bring to YMCA West Kent
  • develop and nurture relationships with our Corporate Partners
  • deliver an enhanced Trusts and Foundation grants programme
  • support project managers, staff, volunteers and beneficiaries in specific fund raising and tenders

To increase the impact and sustainability of our work with young people you will bring your:

  • considerable expertise in managing and developing Corporate Partnerships, Major Donors, Legacies, Trust and Foundation grant support – being a catalyst for change
  • exceptional communication skills with an inspiring, engaging, positive, proactive style
  • excellent attention to detail and an engaging writing style
  • personable, engaging nature to secure and develop new opportunities
  • ability to collaborate with projects and clients and co-produce letters, bids, tenders and reports
